Regenerate Dental Enamel

Enamel is the hardest tissue in the body that is located in the outer part of the teeth. This tissue enables our teeth to function for a large part of lifetime withstanding the forces, acidic foods, drinks etc due to its organized structure. Till now most of us know that unlike other tissue enamel could not be regenerated once it is lost. The study shows that the new approach creates materials that look and behave like dental enamel and helps to regenerate dental enamel. This material can be used for various dental issues to prevent and treat tooth decay or tooth sensitivity. The process of regenerate dental enamel will help many of us who have lost enamel.

Dr.Sherif Elsharkawy said that the multipurpose quality of the mineralization platform enhances the opportunities to treat and regenerate the dental tissues. Above mentioned theory can be cleared with an example, acid resistant bandages can penetrate deep into, mineralize and shields the uncovered tubules of human teeth for the treatment of dentin hypersensitivity. This had been integrated based on a material similar to protein that activates and leads to the growth of nanocrystals at various scales. Dental enamel will also develop similar to the growth of the crystals.

They told that the chance to exploit the haphazardous proteins to control and guide the mineralization process at multiple scales. This study helped to develop a technique that helps in the growth of synthetic materials which mimics such chain of organized architecture over large areas with a capacity of their ’s similar properties. Materials having properties similar to bones and dentin have been created by the control of the mineralization process. So this process of regenerate dental enamel will help many of us who have lost enamel that leads to the loss of teeth. Similarly, it will be helpful for the ones who are the verge of loss of tooth enamel.
