As kids are growing up, their oral hygiene also need to grow up with them. Kids have their complete baby teeth by the age of three. These teeth are called ‘Primary teeth’. These teeth become mature by the age of 6 after which they start to fall out. Then, ‘Permanent or Mature teeth’ begin to grow. This will continue up to the age of 13.

The complete care for permanent teeth is very important. There are some tips to care for your children’s teeth at the age of 3. Only use a pea-sized amount of toothpaste to brush your children’s teeth and make sure that they spit it out after brushing. Also, make sure that your kid brushes at least 2 minutes twice a day. Help them in brushing and washing some days to check whether they are doing it properly or not. Visit a dentist every 6 months. Another important factor is giving them iron and calcium-rich food. The strength of their teeth is in calcium and iron.

When your children grow up and the teeth gets replaced with mature teeth, it is really important to keep the teeth and gums healthy always. Remind your child to brush twice day with fluoride toothpaste and a soft brush. Change their toothbrush frequently. Make sure the teeth are clean after having heavy food.

Oral Hygiene in Infant Babies

Importance of dental hygiene in a human life

Infant babies are born with their teeth. But we cannot see that, because teeth are hidden under their gums. The teeth starts to sprout out during the age of 6th month. But, it is important to start a good oral care before the teeth comes out. Healthy teeth come from healthy gum.

Wipe your baby’s gums with washed clothes after feeding. This will help to remove the bacterial attack that causes tooth decay. Once the tooth start to erupt, then brush the teeth with a soft-bristled toothbrush. Use fluoride toothpaste that is not more than the size of a rice grain. Take the baby bottle very soon after they finish the drink. Otherwise, the chances for developing tooth decay is high.

Certainly, you can build a very good oral hygiene in your children from their childhood itself. But the responsibility is yours. Parents should give proper care and attention to their child’s health condition. Pregnant mothers should eat enough calcium-rich food during your pregnancy. The basic structure of your baby’s health is developed from your body. So, if you have any vitamin or calcium deficiency, it will definitely affect your baby when their first teeth erupts.
